Mallory Meadows Recommends 5 Of The Best Sunday Lunch Restaurants.
The perfect Sunday for me means a later-than-usual get up, a coffee while we watch the birds busy in the garden then a walk around the village with our flossy dog. If I am lucky a Sunday lunch out is on the cards, delicious food without the washing up!
When you come to experience Mallory Meadows, we want you to have the best weekend. To help, we have compiled our 5 sunday lunch favourites into this handy guide, taking the guesswork out of choosing where to go.
1 – Mallories.
This lovely restaurant is the closest to Mallory Meadows- just a short 5-10 min walk, find the walking direction on our full review blog post here! It has recently been refurbished and has a very stylish interior. The warm welcome, pet friendly bar area and delicious food makes for one of the top spots in our Sunday Lunch recommendations. You can view their current sunday lunch Menu here.

2 – The Windmill Inn.
A firm favourite in the Tams house, The Windmill Inn is (in our opinion) the tastiest Sunday lunch around, Sophie and Steve run a very welcoming and cosy pub with guest ales and a great wine list. Their Sunday lunch menu has the best roast potatoes and I highly recommend the gravy by the bucket load. Its a 5 min drive from Mallory Meadows or take a look at our walking route, if you fancy blowing away the cobwebs. The windmill Inn is welcoming whatever the weather, with a cosy wood burner in the winter and a sunny beer garden with occassional live music for warmer days, its pet friendly too!

3 – The Hercules Revived.
Ollie and his team at the Herc are utterly brilliant! A traditional Coaching Inn located in the sleepy village of Sutton Cheney just a short drive from Mallory Meadows. They offer a hearty Sunday lunch menu, with a very tempting wine list. You could combine a tasty lunch with a trip to the historic Bosworth Battlefield which is just around the corner. The Tams family have always thoroughly enjoyed ourselves when we have visited. They are dog friendly too and have the most amazing historic map on the wall in an upstairs dining room…take a look when you visit. Cosy log fires in the winter and a sun trap of a patio for the summer make for a very worth while visit.

4 – Pesto at the White Horse.
Looking for something a bit different and super tasty for a Sunday lunch? Pesto offers just that. An authentic Italian menu served in tapas style dishes makes for a highly sociable dining experience. We have visited here on several occasions and have wanted to try so many of the dishes. They recommend 3-4 small plates per person, which if shared provides a very tasty selection. The restaurant is friendly and beautifully decorated, with a large free car park. Check out their takeaway menu if you don’t want to leave the comfort of your cabin!

5 – Fourwards Restaurant.
This is actually in the building where Chris and I met! The Ward Family took over this restaurant in 2018 and have built on the reputation of the previous owners. They pride themselves on the best locally produced ingredients and even grow most of the vegetables themselves on their allotment or in their on site greenhouses. Its highly regarded in the local area, even offering a traditional Sunday lunch in takeaway form – perfect if you are comfortable in your cabin but don’t want to miss out on the traditional Sunday treat! You can view their menus here.
