Has a circular walk of around 2.5 miles, fishermen take out boats, the village has a couple of pubs.
Bosworth Battlefield is a recommended historical trip, the visitors centre is very informative and the locality is a nice walk.
This ancient parkland has lots of geological interest, a herd of red and fallow deer, and was the home of Lady Jane Grey, Queen of England for 9 days back in the Tudor times. There is a coffee shop and a visitor’s center in the park, and restaurants in Newtown Linford that are highly regarded in the area.

There is a steam train that runs at weekends and certain days through the year called the Battle Field Line

Historic Market Bosworth holds a market every Wednesday, with the Farmers’ Market occurring on the fourth Sunday of every month.

Swithland Woods
These are beautiful in the Bluebell season and a very popular walk for us

Bagworth Heath
This is a reclaimed coal mine that is part of the national forest and has been planted with trees and wildlife encouraged, nice gravel paths make for fairly clean walking. https://www.nationalforest.org/visit
Dobbies Garden Center (on the A447 nr to Stapleton)
Has a stylish farm shop and several outlet units. A nice restaurant and coffee shop also. Ashby Road, Stapleton, Leicester LE9 8JE
Leicester City
The city has many shops and a nice cosmopolitan feel, highlights are the Cathedral, with the newly placed tomb of Richard the Third, the Richard the Third visitors centre and the New Walk Museum. The Highcross Shopping Centre has a big John Lewis, cinema and many other outlets. The National Space Centre is just outside the city centre it is a superb visitor attraction. This large out of town retail park, boasting a flagship Next and Marks &
Spencer stores and large food court and lots of free parking.
