Giving back in 2023 – The year Mallory Meadows is giving back to our local community.

Wow, where has the first quarter of the year gone? Back in December Chris and I chatted about how we should celebrate Mallory Meadows’s 5th year. We decided we wanted to make a difference and to help where we could, so we pledged to make 2023 the year to give back to local charities.

Chris and I compiled a list, allowing us to choose one charity to donate £5 for each stay during that month too. Over these last 3 months, we have donated an amazing £440.  Check out the full details of our first 3 charities below.

Best wishes

Our first chosen giving back charity was East Midlands Dog Rescue. Our dog Flossy is a rescue and has been our family’s most wonderful fluffy addition. East Midlands Dog Rescue is a great local charity run by a small group of volunteers, for over 20 years they have been rescuing abandoned and unwanted dogs. On average they help over 200 dogs and puppies a year and ultimately find them new loving homes.

We were very happy to be able to send £135 over to East Midlands Dog Rescue in early February.

February

Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust was our chosen charity for February. Chris and I felt this charity was a great fit for us, we absolutely love all the nature and wildlife here at Mallory Meadows. We consider it our responsibility to help protect and support their natural environment.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust was founded in 1956 and is a leading wildlife conservation charity working to protect and enhance Leicestershire and Rutland’s wildlife and wild places.

We donated £135 to Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust in early March.

March

We choose Rainbows Hospice as our charity for March. Rainbows are the most wonderful East Midlands charity that cares for hundreds of families yearly who have a baby, child or young person with a serious or terminal illness.  As a charity, they are almost entirely dependent on donations to keep their services going.   Donations help to provide specialist care and emotional support for the babies, children and young people and their families so they can enjoy their time together as a family, for as long as they have.

We were thrilled to be able to donate £170 to Rainbows Hospice.
