Easter is almost upon us the resident bunnies are hopping about the wild meadows, the birds are nesting, the blossom and wildflowers are putting on a beautiful display, and spring is well and truly on its way.
If you can pull yourself away from soaking in your private hot tub whilst enjoying the nature and wildlife surrounding you we’ve tracked down a few fun things to do this Easter.
Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park
If you’re holidaying with children pop along to Bosworth battlefield between 26th March and 15th April to take part in their Easter bunny hunt. Exploring the Heritage Centre and country park looking for clues with a prize at the end. Full details can be found here
National Trust Stoneywell – Easter Trail
Head over to visit this beautiful Arts and Crafts inspired cottage and gardens in the Leicestershire countryside. Approximately 22 min drive away, see the amazing collection of arts and crafts treasures and unique handcrafted furniture housed in Stonewell cottage and then explore the 11-acre woodland with daffodils, bluebells and rhododendron. National Trust Calke Abbey – Easter Trail
Just 35 mins drive away is Calke Abbey, a Grade 1 listed un-stately stately home. With peeling paintwork and overgrown courtyards, it tells the sorry story of the dramatic decline of a country house estate. The parkland and gardens are great to explore and with lots of flora and fauna, it’s dog friendly too. 1st – 16th April they have a choice of 2 Easter trails around the grounds. Hinckley BID Town Centre Easter bunny hunt
This is a free family event, 5th – 8th April, follow the clues around the town look out for the bunnies in the shop windows and win an Easter treat! Full details can be found here.
